Dear Researcher,In 2009, GE completed the sale of its radiolabeled catalog business to Perkin Elmer and its custom synthesis business to Quotient Amersham Bioresearch. During this period ARC began to incorporate more of GE’s (Amersham’s) catalog products in its own catalog listing. ARC already carried many of the same items, but differences existed in packaging solvents and specific activity. We are making every effort to match GE’s specifications as illustrated on pages 16-23. All former GE customers are encouraged to contact ARC for specific product specifications. We have added more than 300 new products this year. Among these are phosphorus-32 labeled, as well as unlabeled azidonucleotides manufactured by Affinity Photoprobes. We are offering these on a trial basis, to gauge the need and the market. Hopefully, with our wide selection of carbon-14 and tritium labeled products, one stop shopping will make it more convenient for you to order all your radiolabeled chemicals from ARC. We continue to expand our iodination services and now offer a wide variety of iodinated peptides, many of which are outlined on the inside of the back cover of our upcoming 2010 catalog, expected in the middle of April. We have also added two carbon-14 and two tritium standards for autoradiography that emulate the values previously offered by GE (see pages 62-63). ARC’s catalog has grown through the years to more than 4,000 products and it is the biggest in the industry. As we continue to grow and in an effort to preserve the environment, we have decided to limit our paper catalog presentations to those chemicals most frequently ordered by our customers, so our written catalog will only list those items. However, our website will include the entire listing of all our available products. We have also kept a numerical listing of all products by catalog number at the back of our 2010 printed version of the catalog for your reference. ARC plans to offer monthly web specials for various research products. You are encouraged to contact us for any radiochemicals you would like us to add to this list. Your comments on our newly-launched web site would be most appreciated and we welcome all suggestions for new improvements. Sincerely, Surendra Gupta, Ph.D. President |
